During my three years at Tenacity, my family, friends, and teachers have seen a huge change in me.  My love for reading has expanded and I love tennis with a passion.  Tenacity has definitely made a huge impact in my life and I'm glad that I decided to join.  It's a place where you don't have to be afraid to love reading or just being yourself...

2010 MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY OF SERVICE WORKSHOP:

GUIDING STUDENTS ON THEIR EDUCATIONAL JOURNEY

Tenacity partnered with ACCESS Center for College Affordability in downtown Boston to offer high school application assistance on Monday, January 18th, 2010. The workshop took place in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., with the aim of furthering King’s message of the importance of education.

The workshop was a big success, giving 25 eighth graders from across Boston guidance and essay writing assistance from the staff of Tenacity and ACCESS. Each student was paired with an adult for one on one support and exclusive use of a computer. Students were able to work on essays for their high school applications and find answers to their questions about the application process.

Tenacity would like to thank the ACCESS Center for College Affordability for providing a space to work in and AmeriCorps volunteers Carolyn Spivak and Trisha Mah for helping to make the day possible!
