TENNIS INSTRUCTOR (ASEP)

Tenacity is a rapidly growing youth development organization providing intensive athletic, academic, and life skills development programs to Boston youth. The mission of Tenacity is to improve the scholastic, character, and physical development of multicultural, urban youth by combining tennis instruction and academic support with a focus on life skills.

Volunteer Position Description:

· Provide tennis instruction assistanceto students during one of our programs.

· Under the leadership of the Tennis Coordinator run drills, games and activities.

· Model and reinforce life skills lessons.

Requirements:

· Tennis experience preferred, but not required

· A passion for children, this program, and the Boston community

· High energy and creativity

Sites:
Our program takes place at:

1. Reggie Lewis Center, 1350 Tremont Street, Roxbury.Parking available in lot, and directly across from the Roxbury Crossing T stop on the orange line. On Monday and Wednesday from 2:00-4:00

2. McCormack Middle School, 315 Mt. Vernon St., Dorchester.Street parking is available in. The JFK/Umass redline T-stop is only one block away. Tennis Block takes place on Monday and Wednesday from 3:30-6:00.

3. Harvard University Gordon Center, JFK Street, Brighton.Street and visitor parking limited.Ten minutes from Harvard Square T stop on Red Line, directly on the #66 bus route. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2:00-5:00.

4. Mario Umana Middle School Academy, 312 Border Street, East Boston. Parking available in lot, take blue line to Maverick Station and 116 or 117 bus to the school.

5. Roslindale Community Center, 6 Cummins Highway, Roslindale . Tennis takes place on Monday-Thursday from 2:00-4:30.
