2019 Tenacity Marathon Team
Help us raise funds to support Tenacity programs and services!
If you are up for the challenge of raising money, training during the winter months and running next April, then Tenacity wants to hear from you!
Tenacity is proud to announce that we have been invited to participate in the Boston Marathon® Official Charity Program for a seventh consecutive year.
We are currently accepting applications to fill our team of 15 charity runners for the 123rd running of the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2019. Qualified runners are also welcome to apply and will receive the same team benefits with a lower fundraising minimum.
The Tenacity Marathon Team – TMT ’19 – will raise funds to support the important work Tenacity is doing to narrow the opportunity and achievement gaps for students in Boston on their Pathway to Post Secondary Success.
Since 2013, over $870,000 has been raised through our marathon runners, averaging almost $10k per runner. Those funds support the programs Tenacity delivers to students on the Tenacity Pathway. Our goal with TMT ’19 is to raise $130,000 – thus surpassing a total of one-million-dollars-raised in our partnership with the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.). We are encouraging all runners on this year’s team to make surpassing $1M part of their motivation and commitment.
If running Boston and supporting deserving students interests you, please consider applying to our team. Set your fundraising sights high and give your fundraising plan careful and serious consideration, as this plan is an integral part of your application.

2019 Tenacity Marathon Team Application
By submitting an application for the 2019 Tenacity Boston Marathon Team, you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions outlined in the Terms and Conditions tab below. Please read carefully. The Terms and Conditions include important information regarding fees and fundraising commitment.
Please read the following carefully before submitting your application.
A minimum fundraising commitment of $7,000 is required to be accepted onto the Tenacity Boston Marathon Official Charity Program team. The minimum fundraising requirement of $7,000 is due on or before April 1, 2019. The balance of your stated fundraising goal (the amount above the $7,000) is due on or before April 20, 2019. Tenacity will continue to accept donations after April 20, 2019.
Tenacity will inform you of the details of the B.A.A. registration process after your application has been reviewed and accepted. Of note, the B.A.A. charges a $365.00 race entry fee for all invitational entrants. Please do not contact the B.A.A. regarding registration.
Tenacity Marathon Team Application Processing
The application process is rolling until the team is full. We do not use a first come, first served process, but rather we will build the team over the course of the fall with the best candidates to help Tenacity reach our collective awareness building and fundraising goal of $130,000.
Tenacity Marathon Team Acceptance
Tenacity will charge all accepted runners a $100 team fee to offset the costs of our training program and other expenses. A representative from Tenacity will notify you if you have been accepted onto the Tenacity Marathon Team. Upon your acceptance of our invitation, Tenacity will send you a link where you can pay the $100 team fee. This payment will not be applied to your fundraising commitment. This payment is non-refundable except in certain circumstances.
Upon receipt of this payment, Tenacity will mail to you the 2019 Tenacity Marathon Team Contract Agreement that you will sign, copy for your records, and send back to us. When this has been processed, your position on the team is secured. Tenacity reserves the right to remove a member from the team prior to B.A.A. registration in February 2019.
We are grateful to the B.A.A. for this continued partnership!
