Summer Tennis & Reading Program – Boston

Each summer during July and August, Tenacity serves nearly 5,000 Boston youth ages 6-16 through our Summer Tennis & Reading Program (STRP) held at 23 public parks across the city. This dynamic program is offered free-of-charge on summer weekday mornings and afternoons.

Each age group meets for a three-hour session where time is split between tennis/fitness and summer reading activities. Offered in partnership with the City of Boston, Tenacity’s STRP provides an enriching learning environment for city youth, keeping minds and bodies active during the summer recess.

Dear Tenacity Summer Families,

Thank you for your interest in Tenacity’s Summer Tennis and Reading Program. Of course, because of the pandemic, this year will be unlike any other, but we are dedicated to making sure every student and family has an excellent experience this summer!

We do want to share two crucial pieces of information as you prepare to register:

First, we have a new registration platform this year. Because of this new system, everyone will need to create a new registration account. We appreciate your patience as we all become familiar with this new system. If you experience any problems, please send an email to tenacity@tenacity.org. Please do not call our office as we are currently unable to answer calls.

Second, regarding the current COVID-19 situation, we will be following city and state guidelines to determine whether or not we can run the summer program in person. If physical  distancing must continue, we are planning an educational, fun, and engaging online version of the Summer Tennis & Reading Program so please register and GET READY FOR A GREAT SUMMER!

Session Schedule & Dates

2020 dates: July 6th through August 14th

Morning Session: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Ages 6 – 10 – ONLY
Afternoon Session: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Ages 9 – 16 – ONLY
